Executing vs Managing vs Leading

When you’re doing a task and is solely responsible for the result, you’re executing.

When you’re delegating a task to someone else but is still responsible for the result, you’re managing.

When you’re guiding someone to do a task and take up responsibility for the result, you’re leading.

It’s not until you’ve been through all three can you be considered a real leader who rose through the ranks.

Transitions are hard, especially when it pertains to how you have conducted your daily work in daily working life.

But transitions are also necessary if you want to continue to grow and level up. If you want to lead a great team, build a big profitable business, or gain any kind of success in life, you have to take on challenges that are proportional to the level of your ambitions.

It will be hard, but it is going to be rewarding.

I’m fortunate enough to be imparted this wisdom by someone much far ahead in their career than I am and I believe this will be useful not just for being an employee but also when I am building my own business empire.
